Camping In Mexico Is Enriching But Can Be An Ordeal

If you are a camper and you enjoy a challenge, a camping trip to Mexico could be just the challenge you are looking for. It is a country of mystery and intrigue, but is you have never camped before, leave visiting Mexico until you have a little experience. Finding yourself off the main highway and in the dessert is easily done and you have to be prepared for any eventuality.

You have to plan carefully for camping in Mexico, and this is part of the excitement of  making a trip like this. You need to keep things to the minimum, yet make sure you have  everything you need.  However, no matter how well prepared you are, it is rare that a camping trip to Mexico comes off exactly as planned. If you are the adventurous type, this may just be the vacation you have been longing for.

Yes, prepare for every eventuality, but also be prepared to experience the most amazing  camping opportunities. If you camp in Mexico you will come home with incredible lasting  memories, but to remind you again, this is not for the faint hearted.

You have to be prepared to camp and dress for any conditions, and one night you could be in  the searing dessert and the next in snowy, pine forested mountains. Also important to note is the fact that even though desert conditions are hot during the day, they can drop to extremely low temperatures at night. Even tropical storms are a regular occurrence in this country, so be prepared.

Flexibility is key to your enjoyment of this experience, unpredictability has to embraced,  and carefully laid plans, change at the very last minute!

Use camping checklists, you will find these online, they will help you ensure you have everything  you need in its most compact form. Shop for your luxuries in the US, while shopping in  unfamiliar stores in unfamiliar Mexican towns is fun, if you are a woman and you want a  Hershey bar now, you will be in for a long wait. Nachos can never replace your favorite  chocolate bar.

Never drink tap water, unless you have boiled it or purified it, bottled water is always the safest. Make sure you have enough water with you, your nearest Chevron, may be a long way away. Take toilet paper, sunscreen and biodegradable toiletries.

A medical kit is vital, and if you don’t know what to put in yours, then perhaps you are not practical enough to be camping in Mexico. My mother suggests, anti-diarrhea and nausea  medication, elastoplasts of various sizes, asprin and brandy (her cure all).

My Camping List Always Grows

I am going to show you a simple easy camping list from an experienced camper. All of us like to enjoy the great outdoors, listening to the crickets chirp and the still of the night as you look up at the moon and stars. Camping is an affordable and easy way to do that.

Experienced campers have gotten packing for camping down to an art. They always seem to know what to take and what they can do without a few days. Before you go camping you need to ask yourself a few questions that will give you more insight on what to pack such as how many days are you going to be gone and what can you live without?

Length of stay is a major factor when going camping. After you decide how long you will be away from home you can then decide how many meals you are planning on cooking and how elaborate you plan on making them. Most families that go camping just have sandwiches that make everything seem easy. A cooler, ice, sandwich meat, condiments such as mustard or mayonnaise, paper plates and drinks is about all you need for this feat.

If you plan on cooking you will need pots or pans, dish soap, rag to scrub your dirty dishes with, grill, food items, cutting board if you plan on cutting up meat or vegetables. When we go out we cook every meal but lunch, lunch is always sandwiches and chips. A large cooler is best when going camping because you can fit a lot into it.

A few more items that you will need to pack is a grill, tarp, tent, cots made for camping, blankets, pillows, snack items, toiletry items and possibly bug spray if you have trouble with bugs and mosquitoes.

Camping is an enjoyment that all families of any ages can enjoy. Your family may be on the high maintenance end and need more than this simple list. This list was prepared by an avid camper who has five children that tries to keep camping down to a bear minimal.

Camping In Mexico - You Need To Be Prepared To Love It

If you are a camper and you enjoy a challenge, a camping trip to Mexico could be just the challenge you are looking for. It is a country of mystery and intrigue, but is you have never camped before, leave visiting Mexico until you have a little experience. Finding yourself off the main highway and in the dessert is easily done and you have to be prepared for any eventuality.

If you are the adventurous type, this may just be the vacation you have been longing for.

The most fantastic camping opportunities are likely to appear out of nowhere, and this is the beauty of camping. Memories are made of this, but be aware that you have to have a lot of nerve to pull it off, Mexico is not for shrinking violets, so if you are made of sterner stuff, you will be just fine.

Having the clothing to be able to dress for most weather conditions is necessary, you could be in the scorching dessert one day and in the snowy mountains the next. You may even experience tropical storms.

To really enjoy a Mexican camping experience you have to be very flexible and be able to go with the flow. Because of the extremes, even the best lad plans go astray and you have to be able to adapt to this.

Making use of a camping checklist is a good idea, as this helps you to take what you need without overdoing it. These are available online, so make use of one. Shop for the things you can’t live without before you leave the US. While shopping in the stores of another country is great fun, the products are completely different, this especially pertains to luxuries.

Never drink tap water, unless you have boiled it or purified it, bottled water is always the safest. Camping with dysentery is no fun; take it from me, the  idiot who ate fresh oysters from Brazilian waters. We all  have to do our bit to protect the environment. Make sure you take toilet paper that is biodegradable.

Make sure you have an emergency medical kit, you need it to be compact, yet comprehensive,  find a checklist for this online too. You never know when something as small as a headache will happen, or an emergency like your husband sliding down an arroyo and grazing his hands and knees, and giving you a headache.

Camping In Mexico - You Better Be Flexible To Love It

While camping in Mexico is exhilarating, it can also be very challenging and it is this fact  that makes it such an exciting country to camp in. The area is filled with mystery and  intrigue, and if you are a camping greenhorn, leave Mexico until you have a little more  experience. The last thing you need when on a camping vacation, is to find yourself in the  Chihuahuan Desert, believing you can stop at the next Chevron for bottled water, it aint  going to happen. The only thing you may find is a muddy puddle, or a Gila Monster if you are  lucky.

Planning is essential, and the trip to successful camping is to take everything you need, but not too much! However, no matter how well prepared you are, it is rare that a camping trip to Mexico comes off exactly as planned. If you are the adventurous type, this may just be the vacation you have been longing for!

My Camping List Always Grows

My camping list seems to last forever! Who doesn’t love to go camping? Lying under the stars listening to the sound of nature all around you, building a fire out of nothing but sticks to keep you warm. Getting in touch with nature is the best satisfaction of going camping, but the camping list of things to pack seems endless.

Some campers have gotten the packing down to a science on what they can leave behind and what they can’t do without. How long will you be gone is the most important question you need to ask yourself before going on a camping trip. This will allow you to know how much food to take as well as staple supplies.

If you are only going to be gone a few days then the less stuff that you will have to pack. The cheapest and easiest way to camp would be to eat simple sandwiches and snacks such as chips. For these types of meals you will need to load your cooler with sandwich sliced meat, condiments of your choice, ice and drinks. The only other item that would be sufficient is paper towels or paper plates. This is a simple meal that anyone can fix.

Most experienced campers go all out just as if they were home taking kitchen ware, dish soap and a rag to clean your dishes, food items and cutting boards if you plan on slicing anything up. I have found from experience that we do the sandwich thing for busy days and we fix larger meals for breakfast and supper. Fixing these kinds of meals is more time consuming but your packing list grows.

A few necessity items that you will need to pack is a grill, tarp, snacks, bath items, sleeping bags, comfortable cot and something to start a fire with.

Camping is an experience that the whole family can do any age and any sex. You can pack everything except the kitchen sink but after you camp a few times you will find yourself weeding things out and realizing that you don’t need everything after all.
