It has straps or cords for securing the bag once it is folded. The mummy shaped bag has a broad and open portion at the shoulder tapering down as it comes to the leg side. It is smaller but has a better heat retention capacity. It cannot be folded but has to be rolled and stuffed into a sack for it to be carried easily. The synthetic bags are advantageous under wet conditions as compared to down bags. They are also cheaper than down bags but heavier. Finally the sleeping bag that you chose will depend upon the conditions where you intend to use. But then with a sleeping bag you can sleep anywhere.
